The Mind Beneath the Crescent

Hi guys. I hope y'all are well, my dear readers. I know it's been a long time since I wrote but here I am, back with another piece of philosophy this time.

Y'know, yesterday, I was feeling a bit sad, a bit let down, a bit worn out because as usual, the pace of dreams and vision and self expectations wasn't matching the pace of reality which got me real frustrated. Let's be honest here, we all have been in that state some time or the other in our lives, haven't we? No need to lie, it's just the two of us here. But anyways, let's not trigger your bad memories and continue with the story. I was feeling a bit let down. So, I did what I do every time such thoughts come. I opened an image of Mahadev's family portrait and started just looking at it blankly and talking my heart out, making fake scenarios, revealing the inner secrets, talking gibberish which had no connection to the situation whatsoever, things that I would have never say outside this room. And while doing so, I noticed a strange detail.

A detail that I somehow missed all those times I opened the image earlier. Every single one of them, Mahadev, Devi Parvati, Lord Kartikey and Lord Ganesh… They all had a crescent Moon adorning Them. The detail seemed suddenly strange because according to the astrology, the Moon is linked to inner mind, the inner conscience. Whether or not you accept it, let's keep the symbolism alive for a moment. If the Moon really is my inner mind, why is everyone wearing it? Why?? And that question began a looooong chain of thought that only my Mahadev knows is correct or not.

So, according to my own answer to my own question,

The mind is always at a state of unrest, always exploring, always wandering, always having thoughts. But when, but when it finally calms down, it relaxes, it tries to become conscious, it is energised by Mahadev's energy of stillness. From being a controller, it becomes receptive, it becomes accepting, ready to absorb, ready to think. And it becomes worthy of being adorned by the energy of calmness radiating from Mahadev. Just like Mahadev stabilises the Moon.

And when the mind slowly becomes calm, only then can beauty of art, creativity and thoughts of creation can come to the mind. Only a calm mind can give free space for creativity to blossom. And when it does, it becomes receptive of Maa Parvati's energy of creation… or Her Chandraghanta avatar.

So, now, you have a calm mind. And that calm mind has produced an idea. But that idea still sits in your imagination. Protected, safe, away from the world. But when you try to bring that thought into reality, what happens? Criticism, commentary, resistance to change, lack of resources to make it happen. And in that moment, what's something you need the most? Courage. The warrior's courage. The mindset of "Let's make it happen", of "Let's start and see where the road takes us." And speaking of warriors, I am sure you have already connected the next state of mind to Lord Kartikey already.

But is a good idea with a courage to make it happen enough? Y'all have tried it. Don't try to deny this one. Y'all have tried to execute a plan only to see it fail miserably. Right? Or is it just me? What's the next step missing from an idea to its completion? The knowledge. The knowledge to execute it, to make it work, the knowledge between "Well technically…" to "Hell yeah, it happened!!" And that… that comes from who else other than Lord Ganesh or more precisely speaking in this case, BhalChandra.

It wasn't the Moon that was changing with each member of the divine family, guys. Perhaps, what was changing was the relationship between the mind and different stages of an idea. All interdependent, all connected, all waiting for you to just sit through it.

And y'know the funnier thing? While I thought about this, I accidentally answered my other question from where it all started. Maybe… just maybe the pace of reality wasn't slow. Maybe the thoughts of expectations were just too fast and needed to calm down for the next big thing to emerge out of it.
